Two killed, six injured as car, auto collide in Naraingarh

AMBALA: Two persons died while six others were injured in an accident between a car and an auto rickshaw near Begna river bridge in Naraingarh on Saturday evening. After receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and rushed the injured to a Naraingarh civil hospital from where two have been referred to Chandigarh after primary treatment.
The Shahzadpur police have registered a case of rash driving and causing death by negligence on the complaint of one Peerma Nath of Shahzadpur in Ambala district,
The deceased have been identified as Somi and Sindro of Shahzadpur, while the injured are Peerma, Ravi, Sanju, Keso Devi, Pooja, Bindu and a two-year-old child .

In her police complaint, Peerma stated, "I along with my family members was coming towards Shahzadpur in an auto-rickshaw driven by Ravi of Bilaspur. When we reached Bassi turn near Begna river bridge, a car driven at high speed hit the auto-rickshaw from behind. The driver fled the spot after seeing us badly injured. A passerby called the ambulance and rushed us to Naraingarh government hospital where my wife Somi and my sister-in-law Sindro were declared brought dead while Ravi and Sanju have been referred to GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh."
On this complaint, the district police have registered a case against the unknown driver The district police officials could not be reached for their comments.
