A search is underway to find the owner of an unclaimed lottery ticket worth quarter of a million pounds.

Players in North Wales are urged to hunt through pockets and drawers for any unchecked lottery slips after it was revealed the massive prize fund from last week's Health Lottery draw remains unclaimed.

The latest Mega Raffle was drawn on Wednesday, May 1 and bosses at the Health Lottery have now revealed that the winning ticket, which is worth £250,000, was purchased in Wales.

But no one has come forward, and lottery chiefs have now launched an appeal to find the lucky winner before it's too late.

Winning tickets have to be redeemed within 180 days of the draw before it is forfeited.

It has been confirmed the winning ticket number for the Mega Raffle draw is EH0103405180.

If you think you could be the winner, you should visit the  lottery results  page or call the Health Lottery Helpline on 0844 375 55 55 to claim your prize.

Throughout the month of May, Health Lottery Wales is benefitting from money raised from ticket sales which will go towards funding additional projects in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Wales.

Martin Ellice, joint managing director at the Health Lottery, said: "To date, Health Lottery Wales has raised over £5m to support local charities and we are confident that with the generosity and support of the people of Wales, we can break the £6m barrier in 2019.”

Every ticket bought within Great Britain throughout the month of May, will assist local community projects in Wales.

A local charity in Flintshire, RainbowBiz, was awarded £32,419 from Health Lottery Wales to fund their Digging Deeside project which supports members to learn new gardening skills and provides a space to meet like-minded people in the community.

Sarah Way from RainbowBiz said: “None of it would have been possible without support from The Health Lottery."
