Three verona area high school students are facing charges after three fights broke out at school yesterday.

Those charges range from disorderly conduct, to battery, resisting arrest and making threats to an officer.

The school district says all students involved have been suspended... and there was an increased police presence on campus today.

Jamie perez joins us live now from the high school.

She shares what she's learned about all of this after speaking with students.

The students i spoke with said this is all anyone's talking about today at school.

Police have been patrolling around campus to make sure nothing else comes of this.

We're about to show you video of what happened yesterday and what one student says school has been like today.

"i walked into the lunch room and i just saw a bunch of people piled up on each other just fighting" for amarrion murry, this was not what he expected his thursday afternoon to look like.

"a girl was slammed on the ground by two police officers and that one was because they wanted to search her because we were on lockdown and she went out to fight another one" police were called in to help de-escalate three fights that broke out around lunchtime at verona area high school.

In an email the principal sent to parents, she notes how students were put on a classroom hold during the fights, but didn't mention a lot of the details described in the police report... including things like the parents who came into the high school and threatened staff, the police school liason officer who was physically restraining a student making it difficult for them to call for backup, a police officer who was punched in the face by a student, another student who was arrested after flipped over a table and a staff member who needed medical attention after trying to intervene.

"man, everything is so crazy.

Like, why is everyone fighting?

This is just ridiculous" three students were arrested, and two students and a staff member were injured.

"one of them is doing fine.

The other one is actually somewhere walking around campus" as police have been monitoring the school today, this is all anyone is talking about.

"everyone is just talking about the fights, talking about how there's going to be more fights, there's police, all that" the students involved have been suspended.

And because of the threats that more fights would happen today, many students didn't show up.

"usually the lunch room is packed, but today in the lunchroom there was like nobody.

It was a ghost town" police are still investigating, and murry just hopes this was an isolated incident.

Jp asks, "have there been any issues in terms of fights or violence issues before yesterday?

Am says: "yeah, but not as bad as yesterday.

Nowhere near as bad."

The school district and police tell me they've been in meetings all day discussing this investigation.

They were not able to provide further comment today.
