Islamic State claims 'province' in India for first time after clash in Kashmir

Islamic State (IS) has claimed for the first time that it has established a “province” in India, after a clash between militants and security forces in the Kashmir region killed a militant with alleged ties to the group. IS's Amaq News Agency late on Friday announced the new province, that it called “Wilayah of Hind”, in a statement that also claimed IS inflicted casualties on Indian army soldiers in the town of Amshipora in the Shopian district of Kashmir.

Gutkha scam: CBI examines Tamil Nadu DGP (Elections)

The CBI has questioned DGP (Elections) Ashutosh Shukla in connection with the sensational gutkha scam. The quizzing followed an entry of payment made to the Commissioner of Police when Mr. Shukla headed the Chennai Police for 25 days in May 2016 during the then Assembly elections.

A fire broke out on Saturday in Bhubaneswar-bound Rajdhani Express between Balasore and Soro railway stations of Odisha, official sources said. The fire broke out between 12.50 p.m. to 1 p.m. and severely damaged the power car in the rear of the train, but did not spread to any other coach, an official said.
