Ludhiana: The Youth Akali Dal (YAD) district president Meetpal Singh Dugri has challenged Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) candidate and MLA from Atam Nagar constituency Simarjit Singh Bains to mention any single development project started in his constituency in the past seven years.
Addressing election meetings in support of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Maheshinder Singh Grewal, YAD district president Meetpal Singh Dugri said in the past seven years, Simarjit and his brother Balwinder Bains had never raised a voice or demand to bring any school, hospital, and development project in Atam Nagar and Ludhiana South constituency.
Accompanied by Maheshinder’s son Hiteshinder, Dugri said the people of Atam Nagar and Ludhiana South constituency lack basic amenities, but both MLA brothers had no concern for the welfare of the people, and were only interested in publicity by staging protests or conducting sting operations. He further said people had now started opposing Bains brothers during election meetings, as seen in some video clips. He challenged Bains brothers to mention any single development for which they had raised their voice before the government.
On the other hand, Simarjit said people not only from these two constituencies, but from other constituencies also would support them, and Akali Dal as well as Congress would face defeat. He said he was ready for a debate, but first Akali leaders should say what they did for the public in their 10 years tenure.
