Halt and Catch Fire actress Lisa Sheridan died from chronic alcoholism, according to an autopsy report.
Sheridan, 44, died on February 25 in her New Orleans apartment and her death was ruled as 'natural.'
But autopsy documents reveal that the brunette, who was previously engaged to Sex and the City actor Ron Livingston, had a 'reported history of benzodiazepine abuse,' Radar Online reports.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office confirmed she died as a result of 'complications of chronic alcoholism' and that the manner was 'natural'.
Sheridan's manager, Mitch Clem, had earlier denied the star had taken her own life, saying: 'The family has unequivocally confirmed that this is not a suicide. Any suggestion to the contrary is absolutely, 100% unfounded.'
Benzodiazepine is one of the most commonly prescribed drugs that are used to treat insomnia and anxiety.
The autopsy report also said that Sheridan suffered a 'remote brain injury' from a fall. She was found to have 'hyperinflated' lungs and a cyst in her right ovary.
Her Only God Can co-star Donna D'Errico took to Twitter to share news of Sheridan's death and the actress' impact.
'Truly one of the most genuinely sweet and gentle people I've ever come across in my life,' she said in the February 27 post.

Sheridan, pictured starring in Perception, had experienced 'dark moments' in recent years
Paying tribute to Sheridan, filmmaker Michael Dunaway said his 'soulmate' had experienced 'dark moments over the last few years'.
He said he took comfort knowing her 'struggles, pain and grief' are behind her.
Dunaway wrote on Instagram: 'She called me Big Brother, and for all intents and purposes I was. I met Lisa when she was fourteen years old, over thirty years ago. We were immediately attached at the hip, true soulmates from minute one.
'For the rest of the days of her life, she was a central part of mine. She was beautiful, obviously, and an immensely talented actor, and a wonderful friend, but more than anything she really did radiate this impossibly bright energy and life.
'Even in her dark moments. And she had plenty of those, especially over the last few years. I'm trying to take comfort in knowing your struggles and pain and grief are at last, and last behind you.'
