Vadodara: The founder and president of Disha Charitable Trust, Prabha Mehta died here at the age of 65 on Thursday.
The trust runs the Disha Special School and Autism Centre which Mehta had founded in 1999 and was the first special school in state for autism and other developmental disabilities.
Mehta adopted evidence-based practices and methodologies for therapies and rehabilitative services. Around two years ago, Mehta had opted for the latest curriculum from the USA developed for the children with autism and developmental disabilities and got the centre’s teaching staff trained by expert trainers from the USA.
Mehta was an exponent of an ‘inclusive society’ and had presented several papers on subjects related to ‘equal opportunities for all’ on national and international platforms.
