BENGALURU: Depressed after his month-old son died of illness, a 28-year-old lathe worker jumped to death from the Nelamangala expressway on Friday morning.
Narasimha Murthy, resident of Kamakshipalya and from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, walked around half a kilometre on the expressway before taking the fatal leap around 7am, said police.

Murthy fell on the road below, sustaining serious head injuries. He died en route to hospital.
According to the family, Murthy's son had died in Anantapur a few days ago. "He was upset over his son's death. Married six years ago, he has a three-year-old daughter," neighbours told cops. As traffic on Peenya main road was less in the morning, there was no major disruption. "There were chances of Murthy falling on vehicles and causing casualties," police added.
