Drug recovery
Division Number six police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler after it recovered nine hundred grams opium from his possession. The acused was identified as Jarnail Singh of Guru Angad Dev Colony.
Major Singh of Anti Narcotics Cell said that police party led by him was going from Arora palace towards Itton (Brick) Waala Chowk on Thursday when they saw the person coming from opposite side with heavy polythene bag in his hand. He added that on suspicion, they searched the accused and recovered 900 grams opium from his polythene bag after which he was arrested.
Division Number six police has arrested two persons for pasting stickers of a political party candidate on private vehicles at Gill road. The accused were identified as Harikesh Panday of Harikrishan Nagar and Ajay Kumar of Ramnagar.
In his police complaint, Sohan Singh Incharge SST Halqa Atam Nagar said that the accused were pasting stickers of LIP candidate on private vehicles. He added that with the help of police party, they were arrested and 610 stickers were recovered from them.
Police has booked them under section 127 A of The Representation of The people’s act 1951.
