GCET 2019 result released @dte.goa.gov.in; Jaiprakash Gaurav top candidate for engineering seat

PANAJI: The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) results were declared on Saturday at 11am. Altogether 3268 students answered the test in physics, chemistry and mathematics. The test is held for admissions to degree programme seats in engineering and pharmacy.
Laxman Uttam Desai scored 70 out of 75 in physics, which is the top score in the subject. Rahul Damodar Shanbhag had a score of 69 in chemistry and Jaiprakash Suresh Gaurav topped mathematics with 72 marks. Scoring 68 in physics and 69 in chemistry, Gaurav has become the top candidate for an engineering seat in Goa.
Goa has around 1300 engineering degree seats on offer in 20 different streams.
GCET was held on May 7 and 8. It is an objective type question paper of 75 questions each.
The test is conducted by directorate of technical education in Goa along with IIT Bombay.
The average marks scored by students were not very impressive at 21.97 in physics, 24.72 in chemistry and 24.05 in mathematics. There were students who scored as low as 6 in physics and chemistry and 9 in mathematics in the GCET.
