Gusty winds are likely to take place on Saturday
NEW DELHI: A western disturbance is likely to bring light rain to the city with dust-raising winds blowing towards it, officials from Regional Meteorological Department said. Gusty winds are likely to take place on Saturday, with a speed of 30-40 km/hour, the officials added. Overcast conditions are expected on the day of polling in the capital too.
On Friday, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 41.2 degree Celsius, two notches above normal.
Delhi’s minimum temperature was 29.4 degrees Celsius — five notches above normal for the season — while the hottest location in the capital was Palam with a high of 43.2 degrees Celsius. Palam had recorded the season’s hottest day on April 30 when the mercury touched 45.3 degrees Celsius.
“The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 40 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively on Saturday,” an official said.

In terms of air quality, it was a “poor” day as the air quality index clocked 277. According to SAFAR, high surface wind conditions persistent in northwest Indian regions are going to continue.
“Regional air quality will improve slightly on Saturday,” a SAFAR report said on Friday.
