Just How Good Is The New Porsche 911 Carrera 4S? Well, What Do You Think?

The new Porsche 992 has arrived in the European market, and it lays claim to being better in each and every way imaginable than its non-too-shabby predecessor.

For now, customers are limited to just the Carrera S and Carrera 4S models – and the new Speedster, but at $275k that’s a different, and much less versatile, animal. As it turns out, though, the S versions offer more than enough performance to surprise even more powerful rivals, especially when fitted with all-wheel drive.

Power comes from a turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six producing 443hp (450PS) and 391lb-ft (530Nm) of torque that’s paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Porsche claims that 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) comes in 3.4 seconds and 0-124mph (0-200km/h) in 12.4 seconds, while top speed is set at 190mph (306km/h).

Carwow timed the press car from 0 to 60mph (97km/h) and it managed 3 seconds flat repeatedly, showcasing once again that no one makes a better launch control than Porsche.

One of the biggest differences between the new 992 and the outgoing 991 is of course the interior. The new model pays tribute to the classic 911 dash, but at the same time offers the latest and greatest new technologies available.

The new instrument cluster retains the analogue rev-counter but adds a pair of digital displays on either side, while the infotainment system now comes with a crystal-clear 10.9-inch touchscreen display. The slightly longer wheelbase and wider front tracks also make the cabin a roomier place to spend some quality time in.

Does this mean we have a new king in the sports car world? Let’s see what the reviewer has to say about that in the video right below.
