Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M.K. Stalin will not succeed in his attempts to form government by taking short-cuts, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam said at J. Krishnapuram village on Saturday while campaigning for party candidate V.P. Kandasamy for the Sulur by-election.
“For Mr. Stalin to form the government, he needs to win people’s trust. But he is trying to form the government by taking the short-cut.”
The AIADMK was a strong cadre-based organisation with 1.5 crore cadre. The DMK would not be able to defeat it easily, he said.
When the DMK ruled the State in the past, there was no development. In fact, the people reeled under power cuts for long. If the DMK were to return to power, there would be law and order problems, Mr. Panneerselvam said, referring to a few incidents where DMK cadre were allegedly involved in fights with shop owners.
It was the AIADMK that had brought all-round development in the State. “After successfully conducting the Global Investors Meet, the State Government had inked agreements worth around ₹3 lakh crore, which has paved the way for employment to 10 lakh youth.”
The Deputy Chief Minister then went on to highlight various development schemes the Government had launched and sought votes for Mr. Kandasamy in a few other villages.
