5.1 magnitude quake strikes western Iran

Tehran, A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Ezgele region of Iran’s western Kermanshah province, near Iraq border, at 14:58 am local time (1028 GMT) on Saturday.

According to Iranian Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was at the depth of 8 km, 34.847 degrees north latitude and 45.762 degrees east longitude.

In an another report US Geological survey said that the earthquake struck near the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya near Iran-Iraq border at 10:44 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
