JAIPUR: A married woman was allegedly gang-raped in
Sikar by three men on May 7 (Tuesday). She registered a complaint with the local police on May 9 (Thursday) alleging that of the three accused, two were employed for renovation at her house. The men broke into her house late night and committed the ghastly act. All three accused were arrested on Thursday.
The three arrested have been identified as
Aakil Tinara (35),
Samif (29) and
Abdul Gani (28). Samif also has prior criminal records with several cases against him.
According to the officials, the 29-year-old survivor was alone at her home with her 6-year-old daughter and father-in-law when the incident happened. Late night on May 7, Tinara and Samif entered the house and allegedly raped the woman while Gani kept watch outside. The incident is of Fatehpur in district Sikar.
Kushal Singh, circle officer, Fatehpur said, “The survivor’s husband and other family members were out of town and she was alone in the house except for her daughter and father-in-law, who slept on the ground floor while she was on the top floor. There was some renovation work going on in the house for which Tinara and Gani were employed and hence knew all the entry points. Out of the three, two entered her room using a ladder and threatened to harm the survivor’s daughter if she did not comply with their demands.”
The trio took away with the complainant’s mobile phone which was later recovered by the police. A case of gang-rape has been registered against Samif and Tinara while Gani has been charged as an accomplice. The medical tests of the survivor have been conducted and reports are awaited. She will record her statement under CrPC Section 164 on Monday.
