Student of the Year 2, starring Tiger Shroff and debutants Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, hit theatres on Friday. The makers hosted a special screening of the film on Thursday that saw several Bollywood celebrities including Varun Dhawan, who made his debut with the original, in attendance.

Varun and Sara Ali Khan, who will now be pairing for the remake of the Govinda starrer Coolie No 1, arrived together for the screening of Student of the Year 2. While Varun was in casuals, Sara stole the attention in a bright orange dress paired with quirky heels.

Tiger turned up in formals for the film screening and was joined by mother Ayesha Shroff. Actor Chunky Panday and wife Bhavna Panday came to cheer daughter Ananya with their relatives and friends. Meanwhile, Tara Sutaria appeared to be the star of the event in a silver, silk dress. Director Punit Malhotra and costume designer and brother Manish Malhotra were also seen at the theatre.

Former reality show judge Malaika Arora arrived with her sister Amrita Arora. Her rumoured boyfriend Arjun Kapoor also attended the film screening and was seen bonding with Luka Chuppi actor Kartik Aaryan.

Among others who watched the film were actors Abhishek Bachchan, Aayush Sharma, Dino Morea, Nidhhi Agerwal, Diana Penty, Aditi Rao Hydari, Huma Qureshi, Ahan Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi and Salman Khan’s rumoured girlfriend Iulia Vantur. Actor Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Maheep Kapoor and Sohail Khan’s wife Seema Khan and kids were also present at the do.

Dangal actor Sanya Malhotra cheered Ananya and shared a selfie with her with the caption, “You are our favourite part of the film.” Fukrey actor Manjot also praised Ananya’s acting skills and tweeted, “Saw #StudentOfTheYear2 last night!! And I must say the film is outstanding!! Brilliant direction by @punitdmalhotra and everyone has done a fabulous job! specially @Official_Ananya you were the best!! Yo gonnna go long way gurl!! God bless.”
