Gorakhpur: Chief minister Adityanath Yogi on Friday listed achievements of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state, and in the same breath tore into the Opposition alliance for allegedly withdrawing cases against terrorists and playing vote-bank politics.
Yogi was addressing a public meeting in Siddharthnagar in favour of BJP’s Domariyaganj candidate Jagdambika Pal. He said the alliance had lost its base because of the government’s achievements and in a state of restlessness, it was using foul language. “We gave people medical colleges, waived loans of marginal farmers and made arrangements for safety of women. We removed illegal encroachments, controlled the land mafia and shut down slaughterhouses. We also ended power irregularities and made provisions for supply of electricity to 23 crore people in the state,” Yogi said.
Taking a jibe at previous state governments, the CM said, “They withdrew court cases against terrorists and played vote-bank politics. The so-called (SP-BSP) alliance has lost its base among people and in a state of restlessness, is using foul language.”
Yogi addressed another public meeting in Pipraich in favour of Gorakhpur candidate Ravi Kishan. “Other parties have been looting the country to benefit their kith and kin. The Congress did it for 55 years and the SP-BSP for 30 years. These people don’t have projects and plans for the poor and the downtrodden,” Yogi said.
