Fox Finally Canceled Lethal Weapon

Lethal Weapon's tumultuous run has finally come to an end on Fox. The network finally made the decision to pull the plug on the beleaguered series, which saw Seann William Scott join the cast in Season 3 to effectively replace the fired Clayne Crawford, whose character, Martin Riggs, was killed off in the Season 2 finale in the wake of multiple behind-the-scenes issues.

Firing Crawford didn't seem to stop the drama that plagued the series. After Scott joined the cast last fall, Damon Wayans, who was at the center of the Crawford drama, revealed he was leaving to leave the Fox series after Season 3.

"I'm going to be quitting the show in December, after we finish the initial 13 [episodes]," Wayans said. "I really don't know what they're planning, but that's what I'm planning. I'm a 58-year-old diabetic, and I'm working 16 hour days... Like Murtaugh said, 'I'm too old for this [sh--].'"

Executive producer Matt Miller tried to downplay Wayans' comments in January at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, saying that once the producers worked out how to fix Wayans' schedule, the actor had a "delight" making the show and had shown up every day with a smile on his face.

Apparently that wasn't enough. At least we'll always have this ode to Crawford's hair?
