Share market update: Bank shares rise; ICICI Bank, PNB among top gainers
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.52 per cent up at 29,034.20 around 11:03 am.
NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains in Friday's morning session.
Shares of ICICI Bank (up 1.46 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 0.95 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.90 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.82 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
RBL Bank (up 0.54 per cent), IDFC First Bank (up 0.51 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.49 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.39 per cent) were trading in the green.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.52 per cent up at 29,034.20 around 11:03 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 15.80 points at 11,317.60 while the BSE Sensex was up 77.11 points at 37,636.02.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PC Jeweller, Tata Motors, Voltas, ZEEL, SAIL, Dish TV India, Ashok Leyland and DHFL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
