Tejaswini shoots gold

Former World champion Tejaswini Sawant won the gold with a score of 623.1 in women’s 50m rifle prone, beating Anna Normann of Sweden by 0.1 point, in the International Shooting Competition of Hannover on Friday.

Esha Singh topped junior women’s air pistol with 568 but eventually finished fifth.

Abhidnya Patil and Mahika Tulsyan also made the final among the Indians, but were fourth and seventh.

In men’s air pistol, Anmol Jain had topped qualification with 580, but also ended up fifth.

Akhil Sheoran did well to shoot 1170 in the men’s rifle 3-position event, but took the seventh spot.
