During a gathering of more than 1,000 tourism and community leaders to celebrate the National Travel and Tourism Week, the news was shared by the Visit Orlando region’s official destination tourism and marketing organization shared the news.
Visit Orlando President and CEO George Aguel said that it was another record-breaking year for Orlando with both domestic and international visitation.
They saw strong gains from all of their core countries, particularly from Latin America. Their success was a testament to the special appeal of their destination that continues to grow and evolve.
Orlando has strong commitment to strategic marketing initiatives.
In 2018 all of the Orlando’s key international markets experienced growth. This included U.K. with 1,039,000 visitors showing an increase of 1.9%.
Last year the record number of U.S. visitors were 68.55 million, record number of international visitors: 6.48 million.
Orlando International Airport (OIA) maintained its position as the busiest airport in Florida, with 47.7 million passengers (+6.9%) and its record international airline arrivals: OIA’s international arrivals reached 6.6 million passengers (+11.64%)
