MUMBAI: Six persons, including a woman, were killed and two others sustained injuries in a collision between two cars and a motorbike on the
Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Kasa in
Maharashtra's
Palghar district.
Kasa police said that the victims have not been identified. The accident took place in Amboli village of Kasa in Dahanu taluka at around 4.30pm.
The cars, one with a Nashik and other with a Vasai registration coming in the opposite directions, collided. The motorbike is believed to have got caught in the collision.
Police said that it is not known to which vehicles the victims belonged. The two injured are being treated in a local hospital.
Traffic on the highway was affected as vehicles were piled up on the road.
The process of moving the bodies to the hospital for autopsy is under way.
