DEHRADUN: Continuing its crackdown on encroachment and unauthorised construction in Mussoorie, the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) on Wednesday sealed a three-storey hotel on the Spring Road for violating construction norms.

The civic body officials also sealed a house near Hathi Paon for a similar offence.

MDDA officials said that the hotel named Kahkashan, was sealed as it was built without any permit.

They added that they had served one-month notice to the hotel owner. MDDA vice-chairman Ashish Srivastava said, “All the floors were illegal and that’s why we sealed it. A house near Hathi Paon was also sealed because they had built a tin shed above the third floor.”

He added that any such illegal construction in the hill town would be removed as it threatens the fragile ecosystem of the region.
