Man arrested for friend’s murder

RAJKOT: A man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly beating his friend to death in Padadhari of Rajkot district on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Paresh Solanki (31), beat up Prakash Thakor (28), after he failed to reveal whereabouts of another man who Solanki was searching for.
According to police, the accused participated in a booze party the previous night with his friends Ramesh Godharo, Thakor and Jeeto Devipujak at Solanki’s farm on Tuesday night. They all slept in the farm itself and next morning Godharo woke up and allegedly molested Solanki’s wife.
When his wife complained to Solanki about his friend’s act, an enraged Solanki went in search of Godharo. However, not being able to find him anywhere, Solanki caught questioned Thakor on Godharo’s whereabouts.

“When Thakor denied having any knowledge about Godharo, Solanki beat him up mercilessly with a bat, accusing the latter of wilfully hiding Godharo. A badly thrashed Thakor finally succumbed to his injuries,” said J V Vadhia, sub-inspector with Padadhari police station.
After the murder, police arrested Solanki from his house.
