Cannes 2019: Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut gear up for the red carpet

Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor and Hina Khan are among Indian celebs who will be attending the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.

Every year, the best of cinema from across the world is celebrated at the Cannes Film Festival and celebs walking the red carpet create a huge buzz online with their fashion statements. For this year too, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut are all set to make their red carpet appearance at the 72nd edition of the festival that will be held between May 14 and May 25.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi star Kangana will travel to the French Riviera from May 16-18 for vodka brand Grey Goose. She said in a statement, “Following an exhilarating debut last year at the Cannes Film Festival, I am looking forward to representing Indian cinema at such a prestigious platform with the global icon of luxury yet again. I made many lifelong memories, inclusive of both big and small moments.It was all about having fun, living life to the fullest and celebrating Indian cinema while living the Grey Goose lifestyle. I believe in treating oneself as you are worthy of only the best and this association is in perfect sync to my ideologies.”

As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Deepika may attend the festival on May 16. Aishwarya is likely to be seen in Cannes on May 19 while Sonam may appear on the red carpet on May 20-21. Deepika, Sonam and Aishwarya walk the red carpet on behalf of Loreal India.

TV actor Hina Khan, who rose to fame with her stint in Bigg Boss, will also make her Cannes debut this year. Her short film, Lines will be present at the film festival, a Pinkvilla report said. The short film is reportedly based on the Kargil War period and also features Farida Jalal. The movie is set to premiere at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival on May 17.

Indian-origin actor Taranjit Kaur will also attend the festival this year. Best known for her performance in the Oscar-winning German film, Raju, Tarannjit will showcase her short film on women and sexuality and documentary at the festival.
