Patna: Minor suspected to be kidnapped over IPL betting money

PATNA: A Class XI student of a private school was allegedly kidnapped from Digha mor under Digha police station area in the city on Thursday night.
The matter surfaced after the boy’s family lodged a kidnapping case with Digha police station on Friday. The boy was yet to be traced till Friday night.
The boy has been identified as Sachin Kumar who is a native of Karai Parshurai of Nalanda district and resided at Ghurdaur road under Digha police station.
Digha police station SHO Sunil Kumar said that the boy had taken huge amount of money from several of his friends for betting in IPL matches.
“Sachin had received a phone call from one of his friend after which he had reached Digha Mor. Upon reaching there his cellphone became switched off and he did not return home,” he said.
The SHO said that Sachin had taken Rs 21,000 from the friend too for betting who had called for meeting and was being traced.

Meanwhile, DSP (Law and order) Rakesh Kumar said that one of Sachin’s friend was detained whom he had went to meet before finally reaching at Digha mor.
“However the detained youth had not been able to tell anything about where he had went after leaving his home,” DSP Kumar said adding further investigation in the case was going on.
