Patna: Crude bombs hurled near coaching institute at Kadamkuan

PATNA: Unidentified criminals hurled at least three crude bombs near the entrance of a coaching institute located near Musallahpur cold storage under Kadamkuan police station area in the city on Friday.
The spot had several coaching institutes and several students were inside them including the one institute which was targeted at the time when the crude country-made bombs were hurled. The incident left the students and coaching owners along with locals in the area completely terrified. One of the bombs fell on the two-wheeler of a student whose fibre body part got blown into pieces.
Kadamkuan police station SHO Nishikant denies any motive of extortion behind the incident and said that preliminary investigations indicate that the incident is a fallout of a heated argument between a private guard of the institute with a student over keeping bag at wrong place.
“Hardly an hour or two before the incident, the guard had scolded a student who had kept his bag inside a locker allotted to some other student. The student picked up an argument and after this, the incident took place,” he said.
The SHO said that at least eight youths were visible in a CCTV camera footage of the spot who had reached at the spot and had hurled the bombs before fleeing.

Though the SHO said that no damage was done to property of the institute, some of the students told media persons that after hurling bombs, the anti-social elements had barged inside the coach institute and had created ruckus.
Nishikant said that efforts were on to ascertain the identity of those who had hurled bombs with the help of footage. The FIR was yet to be lodged at the time of filing the news in the evening.
