The Realme X launch is nearing, with the unveiling set for May 15th, a day after the OnePlus 7 series is introduced. Now, a Geekbench listing has slightly contradicted the previous rumours, suggesting that the smartphone might actually launch with the Snapdragon 710 processor, same as that of the Realme 3 Pro. A previous report about the Realme X had suggested that it would feature the newer Snapdragon 730 SoC.
As per the Geekbench listing, the Realme X – with model number RMX 1901 – has been listed with the 1.71GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC, backed by 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is shown to be running Android 9 Pie software, likely with a custom skin. It gets a single-core score of 1506 and notches up 5837 points on the multi-score tests.
While Realme X will be launched in China for the time being, the company’s India head has confirmed the smartphone will be headed to the domestic market too. To recall, Realme was initially launched only in India and has been a runaway hit in the market. It will draw its first launch in China with the Realme X and a slightly lower power variant, dubbed Realme X Lite/ Youth Edition. The latter is said to be a rebranded Realme 3 Pro, and while it has the same processor as Realme X, may feature lesser RAM and miss out on the 48-megapixel primary rear camera in the dual-sensor setup.
According to a TENAA listing, the Realme X will feature a 6.5-inch, notchless AMOLED display with full-HD+ screen resolution and a 16-megapixel pop-out front camera. Reports so far have indicated up to 64GB of native storage, although it is unlikely that this would be the only variant of storage in the smartphone. Speculations suggest that Realme will also bring a third version of the Realme X, dubbed Realme X Pro, and running the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC in the coming months.
