New Delhi, The Supreme Court on Friday reserved its order on petitions filed by dissident Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha and others with regard to malfeasance in the procurement process that went into the government-to-government deal to purchase Rafale fighter jets from France
Headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, the bench also comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and K M Joseph, heard submissions from all the petitioners and respondents in the case.
Asking the parties to make their remaining submissions in written form within two weeks, the apex court also reserved its order on the contempt plea filed by BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi against Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his erroneous inference attributing ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ statements regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the highest court of the land.
