Mamata Banerjee and N Chandrababu Naidu hold closed-door meeting on Mahagathbandhan future course
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has held a closed-door discussion with his West Bengal counterpart Mamanta Banerjee in Kharagpur on future plans of the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance).
The meeting between Banerjee and Naidu took place for over 15 minutes last evening, according to a well-placed source in the TrInamool Congress. (PTI)
BJP may not get majority, will have to take everybody along: Naresh Gujral
Calling himself a realist, Shiromani Akali Dal leader and BJP ally Naresh Gujral says nobody will get an absolute majority in the elections and whoever is prime minister must carry everybody along for a healthy democracy.
While the saffron party may not get a majority, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will sail through, said Gujral, who represents one of the BJP's oldest allies in Parliament.
