What Daniel James thinks of Man Utd contract offer after £15m bid
DANIEL JAMES is happy with Manchester United's offer as he nears his Swansea City exit.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of major interest in recent months after his impressive season for Swansea in the Championship.
James almost joined Leeds in January before the Welsh side pulled the plug on the deal at the 11th hour.
And it appears Marcelo Bielsa's side won't get the chance to land the youngster this summer either after being 'blown out of the water' by United's £15m offer.
That's according to the Daily Mirror, who say both Swansea and James are happy with the Red Devils' proposal.
The publication claim Leeds did 'all the leg work' for James but have simply been outbid by the Old Trafford outfit.
Everton and Newcastle were also said to be keen on a deal, knowing they could tempt James with the offer of regular Premier League football.
But the Mirror claim James himself was still very keen on a move to Leeds.
The Elland Road outfit were hoping promotion to the Premier League would bolster their chances of landing the winger this summer.
Ahead of Manchester United's final game of the season against Cardiff on Sunday...
James' move to the Championship play-off contenders fell through back in January after Swansea were said to be unhappy at Leeds' £7m plus add-ons offer, which would have came into effect this summer had Bielsa's men been promoted to the Premier League.
James has since continued to be a key part of Graham Potter's side as the recently relegated side battled away in mid-table.
The Welshman has made 33 league appearances for Swansea this season, plus a further five in the cup.
He has also chipped in with five goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
James has not only shone at club level this season but has also bagged his first two caps for Wales.
He scored his first goal for his country earlier this year, netting the only goal as Ryan Giggs' side beat Slovakia in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
