Yamunanagar: Man attempts suicide after stabbing woman

YAMUNANAGAR: A 25-year-old youth, identified as Raju of Jagadhri in Yamunanangar district, on Thursday reportedly stabbed a woman and then tried to kill himself after the woman reportedly refused his marriage proposal. The condition of the victim, 24-year-old Radhika, is reported to be critical and the accused, who has been admitted to a local hospital, is said to be out of danger.
According to sources, Radhika the woman had refused the marriage proposal of the accused following which he forcibly entered her house in Huda Colony and stabbed her. The accused then locked the door of the room from inside and the victim’s family members had to break open the door in order to stop him from stabbing himself.
Soon after receiving information, police reached the spot and started investigation.
Sources further stated that the accused had seen the woman with another man following which he committed this crime in a fit of jealousy.
On the complaint of the woman's family members, police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the law.
