Indians Turn Honda Amaze Into A Nissan IDx Nismo Mini-Me Clone

Honda unveiled an all-new generation Amaze sedan at Auto Expo 2018, featuring styling cues borrowed from both the Accord and the Civic. While it may work for the Asia Pacific region, the Amaze isn’t exactly a global success.

Enter the tuning minds of Mumbai, India-based, Executive Modcar Trendz (EMT), capable of turning the budget-friendly Amaze into something that attempts to mimic the lauded Nissan IDx Nismo concept, which was strongly influenced by the classic, 1960s Skyline GT-R (among others).

A tale of two cars

As you can probably tell by now, the two couldn’t be more different, and to make matters worse, this isn’t even that good of a “clone”, because the proportions are very off, the body panels don’t work, the wheels are off, the interior is off and we can just stop right there.

We will, however, give EMT props for at least staying faithful to the IDx Nismo’s color configuration, at least for the exterior, because the interior has nothing in common with that of the Nissan concept. Apart from a light blue and yellow dual-tone finish, there’s not much else that stands out – unless you count the wannabe carbon fiber inserts on the steering wheel and dashboard.

In the end, the tuning firm did add several custom components, such as the front and rear fenders, two-door extension, new hood, roof spoiler, side mirrors, quarter glass, and new wheels. Unfortunately, the car looks more like a modern-day version of the Trabant than the actual IDx Nismo Concept.
