EVMs brought to re-polling station near Kangeyam

Tirupur: EVMs were brought to Vellakoil Panchayat Union Primary School on Friday as re-polling is set to be conducted in one of polling booths in Thirumangalam near Kangeyam in Tirupur district.
Due to discrepancies in managing sample votes polled in EVMs, the election commission ordered to conduct re-polling in polling booth 248 in Thirumangalam, of Erode lok sabha constituency, along with 12 other polling booths across Tamil Nadu on May 19.
With total 936 votes, the Erode constituency election officials brought required EVMs to Vellakoil PU primary school, where re-polling will be held.

Meanwhile, the DMK-alliance parties held a consultation meeting to discuss about the re-polling to be held. DMK state youth wing secretary M P Saminathan headed the meeting.
The DMK-alliance candidate for Erode A Ganeshamurthi said "The elections officials worked in the booth 248 had been working carelessly since the beginning of the poll. They did not properly conduct the demonstration of EVMs to the voters."
