A footballer will go on trial after an opposing player suffered a broken leg after a "high tackle" during a match.
Sean Merryweather, who plays for Acton FC, denies grievous bodily harm on Sam David Richardson on April 8 last year.
Mold Crown Court heard how the 28-year-old midfielder of Llys y Groes, Wrexham was given a red card and sent off after the incident.
Mr Richardson was taken to hospital to be treated for a broken tibia and fibia.

Footballers from the two teams will be called to give evidence during the trial along with the referee.
Judge Niclas Parry fixed a trial date for October 14.
Merryweather was released on conditional bail in the meantime.
