Betting row: Trader shot at by friend

KOLKATA: A 46-year-old trader was shot at by his business partner over a dispute regarding an alleged IPL betting. The incidnet took place at Dum Dum late on Tuesday night. The victim, Biswajit Paul, was hit by the bullet on his right thigh. Paul is currently undergoing treatment at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The accused trader, Achintya Sarkar, was arrested. According to a local, Sarkar called out Paul from his residence at Motilal Nehru Colony near Airport gate no. 2 after the Tuesday's IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings was over."Around 11.45pm, the two traders were found fighting over IPL betting money. During altercation, Sarkar suddenly took out a gun and fired at him," a local said.
Cops are investigating whether the dispute over betting actually led to the shooting.
