YAMUNANAGAR: A
jilted lover reportedly stabbed a woman and then stabbed himself in Huda Colony of Jagadhri in
Haryana's
Yamunanagar district on Thursday. The condition of the woman is reported to be critical while the man, who was also admitted to the hospital, is said to be out of danger.
The woman - Radhika (24) - had refused the marriage proposal of the accused - Raju (25) of Jagadhri - following which he forcibly entered her house and stabbed her and then stabbed himself too. Since the accused had locked the door of the room from inside, the woman’s family members had to break the door in order to stop him.

While talking to media at the hospital, accused Raju said, “I had been in a relationship with Radhika for the last six years and we had also talked to our family members. Ten days ago, she refused to marry me and I had also seen her with another person. Radhika told me that she has nothing to do with that person and following some arguments I got angry and the incident happened.”
On the complaint of woman's family members, the district police have booked Raju. Jagadhri SHO Rakesh Kumar said, “We have registered a case against the accused Raju under Section 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or mean), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 452 (house trespass) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.”
