A case of gang rape has been registered in Mysuru after a woman was allegedly assaulted by four men late on Wednesday.

A case of gang rape has been registered in Mysuru after a woman was allegedly assaulted by four men late on Wednesday.

Amit Singh, superintendent of police (Mysuru), said a complaint was lodged at Jayapura police station in Mysuru rural district. “According to the statement of the victim, the woman was travelling with a male friend on a two-wheeler near Lingabudi. When the man stopped the bike to answer nature’s call, three to four persons assaulted them,” he said.

Both the victims were admitted to a government hospital, Singh said. The male victim was beaten up and his right leg was fractured, Singh added.

Police have formed eight teams to nab the culprits and a case had been registered under Indian Penal Code.
