The row over including employees ofPSUs in the insurance scheme for State government employees and teachers is unfounded, Finance Minister T.M.Thomas Isaac has said.
Asked about news reports that the government has excluded employees of the Kerala State Electricity Board, Kerala State Road Transport Corporation and such others from the Medical Insurance for State Employees and Pensioners (MEDISEP), Dr. Isaac told The Hindu that they never had been part of the scheme. “MEDISEP is primarily meant for government employees and teachers. Employees of PSUs had never been part of the scheme. They could not complain of being excluded from the scheme but could place a request to be included in it. The controversy is unfounded,” he said.
