To come up at Hyderabad institute by 2020

A Centre of Excellence (CoE) dealing with security breach investigation is likely to be established in the city by 2020.

Hyderabad Security Cluster CEO Zaki Qureshey said the CoE will soon come up at the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) in Gachibowli. Mr Qureshey was speaking at the release of tech giant Verizon’s Data Breach Investigations Report, where he said the CoE would work with several organisations on an open source framework.

ESCI clearance

“We signed with ESCI last month and have the clearance from them. That CoE would not only cater to breach investigations, but will also excel in research and development, innovation, capacity building etc,” Mr Qureshey said, and added that personnel will be trained at the ESCI, and if required, will be deployed across the country.

“Hyderabad will be the hub for breach investigations. That is what our vision is all about,” he said.

The cluster, he explained, has on board organisations like Check Point, Verizon, Oracle and Symantec, among several others.

“There is a lot of interest from Bangalore and Ahmedabad to set up similar clusters. The Haryana government is very keen too,” Mr Qureshey said, underscoring that Africa and West Asian countries have shown “an interest” in collaborating with the Hyderabad Security Cluster and The Hague Security Delta.
