Man commits suicide after poisoning 3 daughters

Varanasi: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man ended his life by consuming poison after poisoning his three minor daughters in Luxa area on Wednesday night. Financial crisis and family dispute was stated to be the cause of the incident. The bodies were sent for postmortem.
According to reports, a local vendor Deepak Kumar alias Guddu gave some drink to his daughters Navya (9), Aditi (7) and Riya (5) on Wednesday night and later he also consumed the same drink. Soon the condition of Deepak and his daughters started deteriorating. Seeing their condition, Deepak’ elderly mother raised alarm seeking help.
The local residents rushed them to Shiv Prasad Gupta divisional hospital in Kabirchowra area from where they were referred to the Trauma Centre of Banaras Hindu University after preliminary treatment. However, all four of them dieed during treatment at the Trauma Centre.
SP (city) Dinesh Kumar Singh said that exact reason behind the incident is not known. The matter being is investigated. According to local residents, Deepak, a cloth vendor, had been facing financial crisis for some time. He had sent his wife to his in-laws’ place before taking the extreme step on Wednesday.
