BJP leader B. Sriramulu said that his statement pertaining to the death of Minister C.S. Shivalli should not be misinterpreted.

He was reacting to Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar stating that he would file a case against Mr. Siramulu for his statement holding the party and the coalition government responsible for the death of Mr. Shivalli,

“What I said was that Mr. Shivalli was a senior Congressman and he had undergone a lot of pain and stress. He should have been inducted into the Ministry much earlier. Later, he was given a Cabinet berth after those junior to him were inducted. While he was Minister, the Chief Minister and several others interfered in his department. Moreover, he had undergone a bypass surgery. All these aspects had led to the death of Mr. Shivalli,” Mr. Sriramulu told presspersons here on Thursday.

He said that Mr. Shivalli was among many Congress legislators willing to join the BJP and that a couple of rounds of discussion had also been held in this regard.
