NORTH DIGHTON — Police are actively investigating an apparent fatal dog mauling which occurred Thursday night in Dighton.

The victim was identified as a 14-year-old from Rehoboth, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office said.

Just before 8 p.m., police received a 911 call regarding the discovery of a deceased man found on a property at 2577 Maple Swamp Road. The 911 call was placed by a neighbor, who found the victim.

The dogs were being taken into the custody of animal control in the area.
