A 47-year-old old Bulgarian national was arrested on Wednesday for stealing money from ATMs with cloned debit and credit cards.

The duo had been staying at a resort in Semmanchery for some time. The hotel authorities grew suspicious of their activities and informed the Semmanchery police.
A team of police personnel raided their room and found equipment used to skim debit cards and a bunch of cloned cards.
Velikov was arrested and handed over to the bank fraud prevention wing of Central Crime Branch for further investigation.
Police said they are yet to question the accused for how long he and his accomplice had been staying in the city and how much cash have they stolen so far.
The possibility of the duo being part of an international racket has not been ruled out and a hunt has also been launched to nab Velikov’s accomplice.
The accused has been identified as Peter Velikov, and 50 cloned debit and credit cards, Rs 10 lakh in cash, Rs 3 lakh worth foreign currency, skimmer devices and a laptop have been seized from him. However, his accomplice managed to escape.
