Odisha: Man gets life for daughter's rape

BERHAMPUR: A 48-year-old man was on Wednesday sentenced to life by a special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court for raping his minor daughter two years ago.
Judge Deepak Kumar also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on the accused. "The accused will get one more year of rigorous imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine amount," Narayan Panda, the special public prosecutor, said.
The court also directed the government to pay Rs 7 lakh to the victim for her future maintenance from its special provision.
Meanwhile, police on Wednesday arrested two persons for allegedly raping two minor girls in two separate incidents in Ganjam district under Patapur police station limits.
