Pixel 3a vs Pixel 3: Things That You Do Not Get (Or Get Extra) In The Cheaper Version
Google Pixel 3 is retailing at Rs 56,943 and Google Pixel 3a is launched at Rs 39,999. We take a closer look at what the cheaper variant missed out.

With the launch of Pixel 3a and 3a XL Google has entered the mid-range smartphone market. While the ‘Pixel’ brand is super attractive in the mid-range segment, we take a closer look at where Google have cut corners.
Let us have a look at the features which aren’t available with the entry level Pixel 3a device:
Limited colour options
Pixel 3 comes in 3 different colors, Clearly White, Just Black, and Not Pink whereas Pixel 3a comes only in two colors, Clearly White, and Just Black, in India.
Toned down selfie camera
While the specification for the rear camera for both the devices remains same, the front camera set up has been toned down. Pixel 3 has a dual front camera whereas Pixel 3a comes with only a single front camera.
Limited storage for Google Photos
While Pixel 3 gets an unlimited storage for photos at original quality, Pixel 3a only gets unlimited storage for ‘high’ quality (not original quality)
No water resistance
The Pixel 3a is not water resistant!! This one is a bummer. We are still not sure why Pixel 3a does not have an IP rating for water resistance.
Reduced Performance, No wireless charging
Pixel 3a gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 with Octa-Core processor whereas Pixel 3 gets 800 series that the flagship device houses.
Other than that Pixel 3 comes with a 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage whereas Pixel 3a comes with a RAM of 4 GB and 64 GB internal storage.
There is no wireless charging in Pixel 3a.
Build Quality Compromised
Pixel 3a has a plastic body instead of the glass body which the flagship Pixel 3 has.
What Pixel 3a has extra
Bigger battery than Pixel 3
The cheaper variant has a bigger variant. This despite a slightly smaller screen size.
Pixel 3 has a 5.6 inch screen and a battery size of 2915 mAh. Pixel 3a has a screen size of 5.5 inch and a battery size of 3000 mAh.
Audio Jack is back
Pixel 3a has also brought back the 3.5 mm audio jack which the Pixel 3 had removed.
No notch on the screen
The Pixel 3a has done away with the notch screen which Pixel 3 has and is back with the standard bezel display
