Ghaziabad: Two men from Bihar were arrested on Wednesday for committing a series of
burglaries in different parts of the city. The stolen goods have been recovered and they are worth several lakhs. Police said the accused had perfected the art of committing property offences to the extent that it barely took them 30 minutes to break into a house and flee with the valuables.
The duo have been identified as Abid and Faizal alias Rahul. They had been living in Bhowapur village of Indirapuram for the past few days. They were sent to Dasna jail after being produced in a city ourt.
Sandeep Kumar Singh, SHO of Indirapuram police station said the suspects belong to an interstate gang of burglars who would commit property offences while continuously being on the move, making it difficult to arrest them. “We are sure of cracking several unsolved burglary cases committed in the city,” a police officer said.
“During questioning, the accused have confessed to their role in four daylight house break-in and thefts in Indirapuram in 2018 while there are also some cases against both the accused in Kannauj and Delhi. They had come a few days back in the area from Kannauj to rob houses,” the SHO said.
“The biggest burglary committed by them was in Kannauj where they looted gold jewellery worth several lakh from the house of a businessman,” Singh said.
