Online retailers Takealot.com and Superbalist.com say they have added luxury beauty products to the offering, as time-pressed South Africans increasingly shop for premium cosmetics online.

In a statement on Thursday the groups said they had added Estée Lauder, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, Glamglow, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Aramis and Lab Series. In addition, MAC and Michael Kors are available at Superbalist.com.

Julie-Anne Walsh, Takealot's chief marketing officer, said, “Locally, we are seeing strong growth across the category. It is clear that South Africans enjoy indulging in quality when it comes to beauty products.”

She added that the Takealot Group’s luxury beauty category had been curated to cater for the diverse South African population with ranges for all skin types and complexions.

Luke Jedeikin, the co-CEO of Superbalist.com, said the convenience of shopping for beauty products online was appealing for time-tight shoppers.

Takealot.com and Superbalist.com are both part of Naspers. Fin24 is a subsidiary of Media24, which is part of Naspers.
