Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested the executive officer of Peddamma temple, Jubilee Hills, for accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.
The accused officer, Saikam Anjana Reddy, was caught red-handed while he was taking the bribe from a priest to get him back to work as the ‘Archak’ of the temple and accordingly, issue him official orders.
ACB officials said that the priest, Prayaga Anjaneyulu Sharma from Namalagundu, approached them and lodged a complaint, following which, a trap was laid and Reddy was caught taking the money at his office around 1.30 p.m.
The accused officer was produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases and an investigation has been launched.
