HSS results: Dist falls below state average

Thiruvananthapuram: Pass percentage for higher secondary examination in the district fell short of state average with only 83% of students who appeared for the examination becoming eligible for higher studies. State average is 84.33%. Of the 32,774 students who appeared for the exams in the district, 27,204 passed, while 1,196 got A+ in all subjects.
When the results came out on Wednesday, only nine schools in the district recorded 100% pass. Government VHSS for deaf, Jagathy; Dr Ambedkar memorial model residential HSS, Kattela, Sreekaryam; SN HSS Uzhamalakkal; Christ Nagar EM HSS; Sarvodaya Vidyalaya HSS, Nalanchira; Carmel Girls HSS, Vazhutacaud; Govt VHSS, Parassala; Venganoor Government Model HSS; and St Thomas HSS, Mukkolakkal recorded 100% pass.
All seven students, who appeared for higher secondary examination at Government VHSS for deaf, Jagathy, passed with flying colours.
St Mary's HSS, Pattom, which saw the highest number of students -845- writing the higher secondary exam, recorded a pass percentage of 94.9. Neha Vinod, plus two student of KTCT Higher Secondary school, Kaduvappaly, won full marks of 1,200 in humanities stream. In the technical school and open school category, 41.11% and 41.5% students respectively won eligibility for higher studies.
Among the worst performers, Sree Sethu Parvathy Bhai HSS, Kadakkavoor, recorded 5.88% pass in the higher secondary exam. Of the total 51 students, only three passed. The school is the third worst performer in the state after Sree Vitobha HSS, Kayamkulam, and Government HSS, Vattavada, which saw 4% and 5.26% pass respectively.
ISE/ICSE results: St Thomas Residential School, Mukkolakkal, recorded 100% pass in the Indian School Certificate examination (Class XII). Of the 132 students, 46 won marks above 90%. As many as 113 students won distinction and 19 won first class. Of the 39 students who appeared for examination in commerce stream, 13 got A + and 14 won distinction.

In the ICSE exam, Namrata Nandagopal and Riya Renu Thomas of St Thomas Residential School won second rank in state-wise merit list with 98.6% marks while Donel Chacko Baby of Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School won third rank in state-wise list with 98.4%.
CBSE results: Kendriya Vidhyalaya (KV) AFS Akkulam, which comes under Air Force (southern air command), performed well in both Class XII & Class X CBSE examinations securing 100% pass percentage. KV Akkulam secured third position among KVs in Kerala region as per data released by Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sanghatan. Of the 74 students who appeared in the Class XII exam, 88% secured distinction. Four students secured 95% and above and 14 scored 90% and above.
